Halloween Decorating Contest Rules and Regulations

Rules and Regulations

  • The deadline to register your Door/House is 4 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
  • Each participant is required to complete a Halloween Home/Door Decorating Contest Registration form.
  • A photo of your Door/House must be submitted by email to jspillers@goodlettsville.gov by October 20, 2020.
  • The Door/House submitted in the contest must be in the city limits of Goodlettsville.
  • Judging will take place October 28, 2020.
  • Judges will be looking at the decorations only and their overall creativity.
  • Two Winners will be announced in each category Door or House. Each winner will receive a $50 gift certificate to a local Pizza company and prize basket sponsored by Ryan Homes.
  • Decorations cannot cover/interfere with any fire safety equipment or walkways. For the protection of the environment, we ask that you not use balloons in your display. 
  • Please keep decorations spooky but appropriate for the community. 
  • Decorations/displays must be viewable from the street, unless it’s an apartment/condo.
  • No professional installations. 
  • Entries cannot be made up of multiple neighbor structures or homes. 
  • Winners will be announced by noon Friday, October 30 here and via social media. 
  • Participants give permission for their door/ home to be photographed and posted on social media outlets and official websites. 
  • Participants agree to hold harmless the City of Goodlettsville for any incidents or accidents that may occur, directly or indirectly, as a result of the Halloween Door/House Decorating Contest.
  • Participants understand that the decision of the judges is final.
