A Planning & Community Development professional with more than twenty years’ experience will become the City of Goodlettsville’s next Director of Planning & Community Development. City Manager Tim Ellis announced the hiring of Mr. Rodney Joyner to fill the position on Wednesday. He will be replacing Mr. Addam McCormick who recently accepted a position in his hometown of White House.

“In Rodney we have found a Director that is the perfect fit for the position, one that not only has the professional qualifications, but the personal attributes, demeanor, interests, and community spirit that will make him an excellent leader for the department,” says Tim Ellis.

Mr. Joyner will be coming to his new position from Sumner County, Tennessee where he has served as the county Director of Planning for the past 8 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography, with an emphasis in Regional and Urban Planning from the University of Alabama and a Masters of Business Administration Degree from Union University.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to work for the City of Goodlettsville in helping to continue the great things that are happening in the city,” says Rodney Joyner. He will begin his new position on March 12th of this year.
