Moss-Wright Park to Partially Re-open to Vehicular Traffic

After careful consideration, the City of Goodlettsville has made the decision to partially re-open Moss-Wright Park to vehicular traffic beginning Monday, May 11, 2020. The main gate will be open, and vehicles will be permitted to park in designated parking areas throughout the park. Certain roadways and parking lots will remain closed at this time. A detailed map of road and amenity closures can be found here.

“Thank you to all of the park users who have worked hard to get us to this point. We are not in the clear yet, but as we slowly work toward re-opening areas within our parks, we ask for your patience and help. Continue to practice social distancing. If the park looks full, consider going to a different park. If you are sick, stay home. Most importantly, respect the space of those around you,” said Interim Director of Parks and Recreation, Sarah Jennings.

City parks will continue to operate on a modified schedule (7:00am-8:30pm) until further notice with the following restrictions:

  • Practice Social Distancing: Park users must follow social distancing guidelines as defined by the CDC.
  • Avoid Group Gatherings: Groups larger than five people are not permitted inside any City park. Families with more than 5 immediate family members are permitted as long as social distancing recommendations are followed.  Any group not abiding by this rule will be asked to leave the property and is subject to citation under Municipal Code 2-104 and 2-105.
  • Prepare for Closed Amenities & Restricted Areas: All amenities within the park are closed to park users. This includes ball fields, courts, playgrounds, picnic shelters, the dog park, restrooms, and water fountains.

In order to keep these recreation areas open for continued use, it is imperative that proper social distancing and health precautions are followed as set out by the CDC. Additional information concerning social distancing in parks can be found here.

An updated list of closures and cancellations can be found online at www.goodlettsville.gov.

Stay the course and stay calm, because we are Goodlettsville and we will overcome.
