Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation unveils its new Imagination Playground™. The innovative play equipment was provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee Health Foundation and national non-profit KaBOOM! Together, they will help Goodlettsville, TN become more playable, by making it easier for kids to get the childhood they deserve, filled with balanced and active play, so they can thrive.
Imagination Playground in a Cart ™ features a collection of oversized blue foam parts that allows children to build and re-build play structures with their imaginations. It helps develop healthy bodies, resilient and creative minds and social and emotional well-being. Architect David Rockwell designed Imagination Playground to encourage child-directed, unstructured free play.
Play is central to a child’s ability to grow into a productive adult. It can transform children from sedentary, bored and solitary to physically, mentally and socially active.
These modular, rectilinear parts are easy to stack line up and move around. Children enjoy an endless variety of play patterns including construction, pretend play, role-playing and inventing their own games. Most importantly, they are deeply engaged, active and have hours of fun.
Beginning in August, the Imagination Playground will be available for play at the Delmas Long Community Center on Thursdays from 3:00pm to 5:00pm.
