The Goodlettsville Citizens Leadership Academy is a citizen engagement course designed to provide Goodlettsville residents with a better understanding of the workings of their municipal government and how city services are delivered. The program gives participants a comprehensive look into city departments, programs and services offered in each, and tours of city facilities. Learn how Goodlettsville is governed, how the annual budget is developed, and how your tax dollars work for you. The Citizens Leadership Academy is a free program designed for City of Goodlettsville residents 18 years and older.
The Citizens Leadership Academy is offered annually. The class schedule runs late summer into fall on every other Tuesday evening between the dates of August 8 – October 17 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Class graduation is then held at the City Commission meeting on Thursday, October 26th at 6:30 p.m. Classes will meet in different city facilities depending on which department is highlighted that evening. Class size is limited to 20 participants. To be as fair as possible, we ask that Goodlettsville residents only apply if they can commit to all classes, with the exception of the allowance of one missed class.
