[ARCHIVED] Kimberly Lynn chosen as Goodlettsville's first Tourism Director

KL

The city’s search for its first Tourism Director drew interest from some highly qualified candidates, but after the search process a local community leader emerged on top.  City Manager Tim Ellis announced this week the hiring of Mrs. Kimberly Lynn to fill the recently created position.  Lynn comes into the position from the Goodlettsville Area Chamber of Commerce, where she has served as President and CEO since 2011.

“With Kimberly we have found a solid fit for this position.  She not only has the professional qualifications and hard work ethic that myself and the Visitors and Tourism Board were seeking, but also, the personal attributes, demeanor, interests, and community spirit that will make her an excellent ambassador for the City of Goodlettsville,” says Ellis.

“The Visitors and Tourism Board is very excited with the appointment of Kimberly as the first Director of Tourism.  I have always admired the passion she possesses for her job,” said Robby Gilreath, Board Chairman.

Lynn possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University, as well as, recently completed course work to receive the Certificate in Nonprofit Organization Management from the Southeast Institute at the University of Georgia.  She has also served as the Executive Director of Leadership Goodlettsville over the past two years.

The Tourism Director position was created shortly after the City of Goodlettsville Board of Commissioners had the vision to establish a Visitors and Tourism Board. The purpose of the Board is to develop means in which to bring visitation and tourism to Goodlettsville.
