[ARCHIVED] Be the Light

Be the Light

Tonight, Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation will join our neighbor, Hendersonville Parks and Recreation, along with parks and recreation agencies and schools across the country in the #bethelight movement.

The Be the Light Movement was formed to honor the class of 2020 and to let the students know that they are not forgotten.

A student’s senior year of high school is oftentimes one that will never be forgotten. From prom to Senior Night to playing Spring sports, the senior year of high school is a time of excitement, honor, and reflection for both students and student-athletes alike. The senior class of 2020 will remember this year forever, but for different reasons. This year, members of the class of 2020 are making the ultimate sacrifice by staying home and keeping safe. As uncertainty for the future looms, we want to honor the sacrifice that these students have made to help their community, to let them know their sacrifice is not going unnoticed.

Tonight, Wednesday April 8 at 8:20 PM, every light in Moss-Wright Park will be turned on at 20:20 military time for 20 minutes and 20 seconds in honor of the Senior Class of 2020. We encourage our community to get involved while practicing social distancing. To safely do that, it is our hope that all of the residents and neighbors of Goodlettsville will turn their porch lights on in support of this effort.

Stay the course and stay calm, because we are Goodlettsville and we will overcome.
