After careful consideration, the City of Goodlettsville has the made decision to re-open Moss-Wright Park and Pleasant Green Park to users for walking and running purposes only on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. City parks will be open from 7:00am-8:00pm until further notice with the following restrictions:
- Practice Social Distancing: Park users must follow social distancing guidelines as defined by the CDC.
- Avoid Group Gatherings: Groups larger than five people are not permitted inside any City park. Any group not abiding by this rule will be asked to leave the property and is subject to citation under Municipal Code 2-104 and 2-105.
- Prepare for Closed Amenities & Restricted Areas: All amenities within the park are closed to park users. This includes ball fields, courts, playgrounds, picnic shelters, the dog park, restrooms, and water fountains. Vehicular traffic is prohibited inside Moss-Wright Park. The Visitor’s Center Parking lot and the upper parking, next to the dog park, will be open.
In order to keep these recreation areas open for continued use, it is imperative that proper social distancing and health precautions are followed as set out by the CDC.
“The safety of our citizens has been at the forefront of the discussion throughout all of this, and we urge you to do the same and consider the safety of those around you when using City parks. Respect others space. If you are sick, stay home. If the park looks full, go to a different park. Do your part, and we will all get through this together.” -Sarah Jennings, Interim Director of Parks and Recreation
