[ARCHIVED] Jennings Chosen as Director of Parks & Recreation

After serving for more than six months as the Interim Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Goodlettsville, Mrs. Sarah Jennings will now become the permanent Director.  City Manager Tim Ellis announced the appointment of Mrs. Jennings to the position on August 5th.

“Sarah has managed the department in an exemplary manner during her time as the interim director, especially during a time of transition and the COVID-19 outbreak in our community.  She is the perfect fit for the position,  one that not only has the professional qualifications, but the personal attributes, interests and community spirit that will make her an excellent leader for the department for many years,” says Tim Ellis. 

In Mrs. Jennings role, she will be responsible for oversight of a broad and diverse range of recreation programs, special events and facilities for the city, she will develop short and long range operational and capital improvement plans, as well as, provide prudent management of departmental finances to insure cost control measures and revenue projections are met annually.  Mrs. Jennings will also assume the management of the horticulture and building & facility functions of the city in order to provide for a more effective and efficient operation of city services.

Mrs. Jennings has 15 years experience in parks and recreation and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports and Leisure Management from East Tennessee State University and a Master’s Degree in Parks, Recreation & Tourism from Clemson University. She is an active member of both the National and Tennessee Recreation and Parks Associations. She is a Certified Parks & Recreation Professional (CPRP) by the National Recreation and Parks Association.  Mrs. Jennings is married to her husband Spencer and they are proud residents of our great community.
