Tennessee Waters: Shaping Our Land, Our Lives, and Our Future is a traveling exhibit exploring the overall environmental, historical, and cultural impact of water in Tennessee. The exhibit highlights an important chapter of Tennessee’s story and provides the host communities a context for current conversations about growth, sustainability, jobs, and the economy.
The Tennessee Waters project enables local organizations to engage visitors with challenging new perspectives of community life surrounding our relationships to the natural features of the places we live.
“We are pleased to offer this wonderful educational program to our community and to introduce our audiences to this important perspective of our state and local history,” said Kimberly Lynn, Director of Tourism.
The free exhibit will be on view at the Goodlettsville Visitor’s Center, 705 Caldwell Drive, Goodlettsville June 13 thru July 1, 2022. The Visitor’s Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and is open on Thursday 8:00 am - 7:00 pm during the Farmer’s Market.
As a bonus for anyone wanting to add on a tour of Historic Mansker’s Station while visiting the Tennessee Waters exhibit, mention the code “TENNESSEE WATERS” at the front desk and receive $1 off tour admission to Historic Mansker’s Station between the hours of 9:00am – 3:00pm Monday – Friday thru July 1.
Tennessee Waters is organized by Humanities Tennessee, the Tennessee Historical Society, and the Albert Gore Research Center at Middle Tennessee, an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
