[ARCHIVED] Get Involved in the Goodlettsville Community Cleanup Day March 25th

March cleanup for web

The City of Goodlettsville is hosting two opportunities to be involved with a Community Cleanup Day in partnership with Keep Tennessee Beautiful and Sumner County on Saturday, March 25th.

There will be multiple groups picking up litter along streets they have adopted throughout the City on this day as a part of the City’s Adopt-A-Street program. There are more available streets to adopt if your family, church, business, or any group of people would like to help clean up on this day, and once a quarter throughout the year. Groups are recognized for their cleanup efforts with a sign located on their adopted street. Reach out to Allison Baker at abaker@goodlettsville.gov if you would like to get involved with the Adopt-A-Street program.

The City is also working with Cumberland River Compact for a Mansker Creek Cleanup on March 25th from 1pm-4pm. These cleanups efforts are designed to remove potential litter from reaching the creek, thus destroying in-stream critter habitat and local aesthetic. Volunteers can sign up to be involved online at www.cumberlandrivercompact.volunteerhub.com.

The City of Goodlettsville endorses the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s statewide litter prevention campaign, Nobody Trashes Tennessee. The main goals of the campaign are to reduce the amount of roadside litter across the state, reduce the amount of money spent on litter pickup, and maintain constant litter prevention education awareness.

Let us be good stewards of what we have been given and Keep Goodlettsville and Tennessee Beautiful!
