The City of Goodlettsville Board of Commissioners, earlier this year, passed Resolution 23-1118 establishing the date of July 3rd to be the 2023 Independence Day Celebration in the City of Goodlettsville. In years past the City’s Independence Day Celebration has been on July 4th.
City of Goodlettsville staff concluded that there are many benefits to moving the event to July 3rd including the ability to secure additional vendors, savings in overtime paid to employees, providing flexibility to residents and future savings in pyrotechnic costs.
Here are the details for this year’s Independence Day Celebration, held at Moss-Wright Park at 745 Caldwell Drive in Goodlettsville from 4:00pm to 9:00pm: Food vendors and the activity zone open at 4:00pm. Activity Zone Armbands are $10 each, 3 and under are free. The Kid's Zone will feature the following games and inflatables: Vertical Rush, Obstacle Course, Adrenaline Rush, Castle Bounce House, Jurassic Adventure, Basketball Double Shot, Home Run Challenge, and Sticky Soccer.
Fireman's Foam begins at 5:00pm. Fireman's Foam is a Goodlettsville tradition hosted by the Goodlettsville Fire Department and is like a big bubble bath on the grass; it is free and open to all ages. We recommend that you wear a swimsuit or bring an extra change of clothes if you plan on participating. Some people like to wear goggles as well. A gaga pit is sponsored by Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation and is free for all ages. Gaga is a fast-paced, high-energy sport played in an octagonal pit. It will be open from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
Fireworks go off at 9:00pm.
Event parking information: The Goodlettsville Police Department, Sumner County Sheriff's Department, and Goodlettsville Parks and Recreation Department provide parking assistance for the Independence Day Celebration. Please follow all directions provided upon arrival. Moss-Wright Park is filled from the main entrance until the north side of the park is full, then parking begins at the secondary entrance near the dog park and soccer fields. When that area is full, parking in the park is closed for the event. It is suggested that you arrive no later than 7:30pm to ensure that you can find parking and have time to make it to the firework viewing area.
Come celebrate with us in Goodlettsville this year on July 3rd, 2023!
