It would be dangerous for our youth to have fun on their bikes and skateboards on moss wright park because of the possibility of hitting other pedestrians and vehicles and not only that it influences them to go on other private properties.
Starting the making of the skatepark on either moss wright park or in other park facilities in Goodlettsville would fix this idea.
It would be a great idea if this would get acted on as soon as possible to avoid potential harm for our youth and at the same time accomodate the community, even making something as simple as making a ledge or a simple rail at the skatepark is a good start.

With the increased traffic around Nashville, and when I-65 is backed up, people are using Lickton Pike/Old Springfield Pike to go from Nashville to Goodlettsville/Hendersonville/Greenbriar/Springfield. Because traffic light at the intersection of Dickerson Rd and Old Springfield Pike does not stay GREEN very long for the vehicles turning left onto Dickerson Rd, it is creating large backups along Old Springfield Pike. This can be mitigated somewhat by adding a third lane on Old Springfield Pike from Hitt Lane to Dickerson Rd.

The Old Springfield Pike and Dickerson Rd intersection has been extremely prone to accidents. This last incident, the cross-walk posts have not been replaced for over a month.
There are obvious actions to help prevent further accidents and damage.
First, the speed limit for southbound traffic on Dickerson Rd (from the 31W and 41 merger to Old Springfield Pike) needs to be consistently enforced.
Second, the markings for the far right lane (which only turns onto Old Springfield Pike) need to be blatant. Specifically, (1) a large white arrow should be painted on the road showing the "Right turn only"; (2) thre should be one or two LARGE yellow signs on the right side of the road stating "Right Lane Ends - Right turn Only" - the current small white square signs are totally inadequate; (3) the triangular curbs and posts need to be coated with reflective tape/paint along with a possible flashing caution light; and (4) a possible guard rail or barrier protecting the posts/curb.

Now is the time (before Spring foliage grows back) to remove/clean all litter, debris and trash along many of the streets around Goodlettsville. Specifically areas underneath I-65 and Long Hollow, Main St on the north end of town (especially along side the trailer parks), Old Springfield Pike, E Cedar St (especially by the train trestle), all on/off ramps near I-65, the area near the train trestle and Dickerson Rd, and many others. Not only does all the litter create an unsightly appearance for the city, much of this trash flows into nearby by streams, creeks and waterways. Likewise, the depreciation of property values due to people constantly throwing litter into nearby yards.

The city of Goodlettsville continues to struggle with keeping a clean and litter free community. If we want to establish Goodlettsville as a clean, safe, friendly, prosperous, and "preferred place to live", we need to take consistent steps and actions that achieve those goals. Part of which is keeping a clean, litter-free community. Keeping it clean consistently has the deterrent effect of making people more hesitant to throw out trash/litter from their vehicles if the roadsides, are already litter free. However, the opposite affect is true if litter is already prevalent along a road or interchange, then people think "it doesn't matter, there is already trash there, so another fast food paper sack or beer bottle won't matter." It's about attitude and perception, and we need to create a city with the attitude we don't stand for litter/trash in our community. It starts with city leadership and permeates from there.

The stop sign at the entrance/exit to Rite Aid on Long Hollow Pike (across from the City Hall) is bent at a 45 deg angle and has been so for about 6 or more months. Recommend Public Works fix.

As you enter Old Springfield Pike from Dickerson Rd., along the right side, there is a vacant lot where the curb along the road runs about half way down. After the curb ends, apparently people are using that area for u-turns, 4-wheeling, etc. This area (which is across from the Grand Ole RV campground), is becoming a mud pit (especially after any rain). An extended curb should help to reduce or eliminate this eye sore and keep the land in good condition.

Recommend Public Works, if not already implemented, establish a consistent and frequent roadside cleanup schedule. Suggest monthly street inspections and cleanups. Areas requiring close and frequent attention are all the on- and off-ramp areas around I-65. Examples of other streets with frequent litter are Cedar Ave., northern Dickerson Rd., (between Dorris and Old Springfield Pike....with focus around the train trestle and the trailer park areas). Even Main St., in front of the old high school is accumulating a lot of litter. Conference Dr., from the top of the hill to the bypass is another area. Frequent cleanups will help in the effort, but we also need increased education, awareness and publicity reminding citizens of the no litter laws and associated fines, as well as environmental and economic impacts. Finally, enforcement is required, whether code enforcement for businesses to keep their areas clean or general fines to citizens for littering.

POTHOLE ALERT.
Dickerson Pike right before crossing Dry Creek Road going toward Goodlettsville! We hit a pothole and it blew our tire out. Put a big hole in it. Waited 2 hours for AAA.

The pedestrian light post has been down for nearly 3 months now at the intersection of Old Springfield Pike and Dickerson Rd. This is about the fifth time this post (or both) have been knocked down. With the installation of all the other pedestrian cross-walk posts around town, seems like this could have been quickly put back up/replaced. This intersection is notorious for these posts being knocked down. There are several key issues that need to correct it: (1) increase the visibility of the curb "islands" they stand on. During darkness or rainy nights, these pedestrian "islands" are nearly impossible to see. (2) The southbound lane on Dickerson Rd that "ends" at Old Springfield Pike must include larger evident signs that this is not a "thru lane";
(3) The posts themselves need either better reflection and/or guardrail barriers around the posts.
These are simple engineering solutions that should be evident to correct.

The new traffic light at the intersection of Conference Drive and Dollar General Dr should be placed on a "trigger" mechanism. Relatively few vehicles are coming from the Dollar General Dr, yet the light changes to red on Conference drive even when no vehicles at all are coming from Dollar General Headquarters. This is a great impedance, and totally unnecessary for traffic flow on Conference Drive. Change the traffic light signal to a "trigger" will allow the light to change when it "senses" vehicles coming from Dollar General Headquarters, but not routinely all day long for extremely long durations.

If there is a single Project/Contract Manager for the refurbishment of the tennis courts at the Community Center, recommend the "bidding proposal" for the project be listed as the total project.
This project has taken all Summer and basically eliminated the citizens from playing on the tennis courts for this year. Apparently when trying to inquire about the status, it seems the timeframe for completion is basically "open-ended". There apparently is a contract for the "resurfacing' which was finally finished recently, but now, bids have to go out to do the "painting" of the court surface. Hopefully, another contract will not have to go out after that to reinstall the poles and netting.
It appears this project has gone on way longer than it should have. Requesting the city and project manager please take action to expedite the remainder of the project so our citizens can enjoy.
