The Public Works offices are located at 215 Cartwright St., Goodlettsville.
The Recycling and Drop-Off Center is located at 220 Connell St., Goodlettsville.

4. How do I get trash pick-up started at my residence?

You will be able to set up your trash service at Goodlettsville City Hall located at 105 S. Main Street or online. The non-refundable set up fee per container is $75. There is a limit of two containers per household.

5. How do I get trash pick-up started at my place of business?

The City of Goodlettsville does not currently offer commercial service. Any business within Goodlettsville's city limits must contact a private service to remove their solid waste.

6. Why do I have to pay a $75 per container set-up fee if there is already a City of Goodlettsville trash receptacle at my residence?

The $75 fee per container is a non-refundable service charge to activate service at your residence. The receptacle is the property of the City of Goodlettsville and should remain at the residence it is assigned to. If a second container is required, there is an additional non-refundable set-up fee of $75.

7. What are the current sanitation fees?

$18/month for one container 

$22/month for two containers 

$75 new resident set-up fee (non-refundable)

8. I put my container out this morning, but it was not emptied. What do I do?

First check to make sure the rules and regulations were followed properly. Once you are sure proper procedure was adhered to, call Goodlettsville City Hall at (615) 851-2200.

9. When is garbage collected?

Garbage is collected once a week. Recyclable materials are collected bi-weekly. Check with Goodlettsville City Hall for your specific pick-up day by calling (615) 851-2200 or checking this website.

10. My container has been damaged. What do I do?

To report damage to the garbage or recycling container, call Goodlettsville City Hall at (615) 851-2200. Place the cleaned, empty container at the street in order for our repair crew to have access.

11. Whom do I contact about having limbs and brush chipped?

If you performed the cutting yourself, the City will be able to chip the debris for you. It is not necessary to call for this service. If you hired the work to be performed, that person or company is responsible for its removal, not the City.

12. A professional tree trimming company has worked in my yard. What do I do with the yard waste?

All debris generated within the City by a contractor (someone you've paid to do the work for you) is to be removed by the contractor. The City is unable to remove this debris.

13. What do I do with items I can recycle?

Residential properties are provided with a recycling container which is picked up curbside only on a bi-weekly basis. 

Acceptable items include:

• Metal cans (aluminum, bi-metal, and steel) 
• Paper products (newspaper, office paper, computer paper, magazines, junk mail, shiny paper inserts, telephone books, paper board, cereal boxes, cardboard, paper grocery bags) 
• Plastic containers labeled 1 through 7 (soft drink bottles, milk jugs, detergent bottles. Remove caps, rinse and flatten containers before placing into recycling container).

The items acceptable for recycling do not need to be separated, they are to be co-mingled into the designated recycling container. 

If shredded paper is being recycled, please make sure it is bagged in a paper bag in order to prevent waste from leaving the container and dumping onto the ground.

14. How do I get bulk items picked up?

Call Goodlettsville City Hall at (615) 851-2200 to discuss pick up of your bulk item.

15. Whom do I call to dispose of a dead animal?

If the animal is in Davidson County, call (615) 862-8971. If the animal is on a State-maintained highway (Dickerson Road/Main Street, Springfield Highway/US 41, Louisville Highway/31W, or Long Hollow Pike), contact TDOT. Davidson County TDOT (615) 350-4400, Sumner County TDOT (615) 451-5824. TWRA does not pick up dead animals.
